The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention define the Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) as the conditions in the places where people live, learn, work, and play that affect a wide range of health and quality of life-risks and outcomes. There are disparities related to race, ethnicity, income, education, health access, and environment that play a critical role in a person’s health.
